WHAT I HELP WITH

I provide personalised clinical hypnotherapy for persistent pain, anxiety and emotional overwhelm, trauma, sleep difficulties, unwanted habits and behavioural change. Together, we explore what may be maintaining the pattern and work towards responses that better support the way you want to live.

You may know exactly what you want to change, or simply recognise that the way you have been feeling, responding or coping is no longer working for you.

You don’t need to have everything neatly figured out.

You may have one clear concern, or several difficulties that seem to overlap. Perhaps you know what you want to change, but not why the pattern keeps returning. We can begin with what you’re experiencing now and work together to understand what may be contributing to it.

01 · PERSISTENT PAIN

Pain is complex. Hypnotherapy helps calm the nervous system, reduce sensitivity and rebuild comfort.

  • Pain that persists or repeatedly flares

  • Fear, tension or vigilance around movement and sensation

  • Sleep, mood or concentration being affected

  • Feeling as though pain has taken over too much of your life

02 · ANXIETY & EMOTIONAL OVERWHELM

When worry, anxiety and stress take over, you can feel on edge and stuck in overthinking.

  • Persistent worry or “what if?” thinking

  • Feeling tense, restless or easily overwhelmed

  • Difficulty switching off or being present

  • Avoiding situations because of how you fear you may feel

  • Knowing something logically without feeling it emotionally

03 · TRAUMA & DIFFICULT PAST EXPERIENCES

The past can keep showing up in the present. Hypnotherapy supports healing, safety and moving forward.

  • Feeling constantly watchful, guarded or easily triggered

  • Avoiding people, places or situations connected with difficult memories

  • Repeating protective patterns that affect relationships or daily life

  • Shame, self-blame or beliefs formed through earlier experiences

  • Feeling disconnected, emotionally shut down or unable to move forward

06 · EMOTIONAL EATING & BEHAVIOUR CHANGE

Recognise the patterns underneath and create choices that support your goals and values.

  • Eating when you are not physically hungry

  • Using food for comfort, reward or relief

  • Feeling caught in cycles of restriction, overeating and regret

  • Repeating a behaviour despite sincerely intending not to

  • Harsh self-criticism after a setback

04 · SMOKING, VAPING & NICOTINE

Let go of the habit and the hold it has, and strengthen your motivation for a healthier, freer life.

  • Reaching for nicotine automatically or without deciding to

  • Using it to manage stress, boredom, concentration or emotion

  • Having stopped before, only to return during a difficult period

  • Feeling divided between wanting to quit and fearing life without it

  • Wanting to stop before the habit has further effects on your health or finances

05 · SLEEP & OVERTHINKING

Quiet the mental noise, reset your sleep rhythms and wake feeling more rested.

  • Racing thoughts when you lie down

  • Replaying conversations or planning tomorrow

  • Waking during the night and being unable to switch off

  • Feeling tired but strangely alert at bedtime

  • Worrying about how the next day will go if you cannot sleep

People rarely experience one concern in isolation.

Pain can disrupt sleep. Poor sleep can increase emotional overwhelm. Stress may intensify physical symptoms or strengthen the urge to reach for food, nicotine or another familiar source of relief.

These concerns can influence and reinforce one another. We begin with what is affecting you most and explore the wider pattern together, focusing on the changes likely to make the most meaningful difference in your life.

PATTERNS

How hypnotherapy may help.

UNDERSTAND THE PATTERN

We explore the thoughts, emotions, physical responses, learned associations and behaviours that may be maintaining the difficulty.

Greater awareness can help make an automatic pattern more understandable—and give us a clearer place to begin changing it.

CREATING CHANGE

CREATE NEW RESPONSES

In hypnosis, we may work with imagery, language, sensation, suggestion or emotional rehearsal to develop responses that feel safer, calmer or more useful.

You do not need to visualise clearly or experience hypnosis in a particular way for the work to be adapted to you.

PRACTICE CHANGE

Hypnosis provides an opportunity to mentally and emotionally rehearse responding differently before applying those responses in everyday situations.

Sessions may also include practical strategies or simple between-session activities to help new patterns become increasingly familiar.

Hypnosis is a focused, receptive state in which attention can be directed more deliberately. You remain aware and involved, while we use this focused state to explore familiar patterns and practise responses that better support your goals.

The work is personalised to what you are experiencing and how you respond. It may include elements of the following:

What working together involves.

01 · Begin with your experience

Your initial appointment allows time to explore what has been happening, what may be maintaining the pattern and what you would like life to feel or look like instead.

You are welcome to ask questions, raise concerns and tell me what does—or does not—feel right for you.

THE PROCESS

Our work begins with understanding what you are experiencing and what you would like to change. From there, each session is shaped around your needs, responses and progress.

03 · Carry change into life

Sessions focus on helping new responses become increasingly available in the situations where you need them.

This may include practical strategies, hypnotic rehearsal or simple activities between appointments. We review what is changing and decide together what support would be useful next.

02 · Shape the approach

I develop a personalised therapeutic approach using clinical hypnotherapy and, where helpful, complementary strategies suited to your goals.

Your responses and feedback guide the work. We can adjust the language, pace and methods as we learn what helps you engage most effectively.

Hypnotherapy works best as part of the right support for you. It can compliment medical and allied support health care, coaching and counselling. When another kind of support is more appropriate, I'll let you know and help get you connected.

Your wellbeing and safety always comes first.

The right support matters.
