HYPNOTHERAPY FOR STRESS · PALMWOODS & ONLINE
When your mind keeps working long after you want it to stop, stress can begin to affect your sleep, concentration, relationships and ability to feel settled.
Personalised hypnotherapy can help you understand the patterns keeping that response going and develop calmer, more useful ways of responding.

DOES THIS FEEL FAMILIAR?
Stress does not always arrive as an obvious crisis. Sometimes it shows up as a mind that rarely stops working, a body that remains tense, or a persistent sense that there is always something else to think about, manage or prepare for.
You replay conversations long after they have ended.
You anticipate problems, mentally preparing for every possibility
Small demands feel disproportionately irritating or overwhelming
Your head, shoulders, jaw or stomach seem to hold tension
Your exhausted but struggle to properly switching off
You understand what might help, but it seems difficult to do consistently
Over time, this can affect sleep, concentration, patience, confidence and your ability to enjoy the parts of life that are supposed to feel restful.
UNDERSTANDING THE STRESS RESPONSE
The stress response is a useful protective system. It helps you become alert, focused and ready to respond when something requires your attention.
When pressure is frequent or there is little opportunity to recover, returning to a genuinely settled state can become more difficult. Thoughts, emotions and physical sensations may begin to reinforce one another.
In your mind
persistent thinking, planning or problem-solving
difficulty concentrating or making decisions
replaying situations and conversations
feeling easily frustrated, worried or overwhelmed
In your body
muscle tension or a clenched jaw
shallow breathing or a racing heart
digestive discomfort
tiredness combined with difficulty relaxing or sleeping
You may know that you are safe, finished for the day or in need of rest, while your mind and body continue responding as though something still requires your attention.
HYPNOTHERAPY FOR STRESS
Hypnosis is a focused and receptive state in which you remain aware, able to communicate and in control. It can create an opportunity to work with stress responses at a level that involves more than conscious reasoning alone.
Sessions combine thoughtful conversation, personalised hypnotherapy, NLP and practical strategies. The work may include:
Creating a calmer starting point
Understanding the pattern
Practising different responses
Learning how to settle physical and mental activation can make it easier to think clearly, respond deliberately and engage with the underlying pattern.
We explore the situations, expectations, beliefs and learned associations that may be contributing to your stress. This is approached with curiosity rather than assumption.
Hypnosis can be used to mentally rehearse calmer and more useful ways of responding to situations that have previously triggered worry, tension or overwhelm.
The approach is adapted to you, your circumstances and what meaningful progress would look like in your life.

A PERSONALISED APPROACH
Two people can face similar pressures and respond very differently. Your history, responsibilities, expectations, coping strategies and learned associations all influence how stress shows up for you.
I take time to understand what is happening in your life, what tends to trigger the response and what you would genuinely like to experience differently.
Our work may involve:
identifying patterns that contribute to worry, tension or overwhelm
developing practical ways to settle your response in everyday situations
using NLP and hypnotherapy to explore and strengthen more useful responses
reviewing what is changing and adjusting the approach as we progress
You will not be expected to disclose anything you are unwilling to discuss, and you remain aware and able to communicate throughout hypnosis. The work is collaborative, confidential and shaped around you.
A CLIENT EXPERIENCE
Joan* sought hypnotherapy because anxiety and overwhelm were affecting her confidence at work. During meetings, her mind would race, her body would react and she sometimes found it difficult to speak with the confidence she knew she had.
SESSION 01
Creating some breathing room
Joan learned a practical technique to help reduce overwhelm as it arose. This gave her something useful to apply between sessions while we began exploring the broader pattern.
SESSION 02
Understanding the response
We looked at the expectations and underlying beliefs contributing to her anxiety in high-pressure situations.
SESSION 03
Rehearsing a different experience
Hypnotherapy was used to support calmer responses and help Joan mentally rehearse participating in meetings with greater confidence.
SESSION 04
Reviewing and strengthening
By the fourth session, Joan reported that she had successfully navigated several meetings and felt better able to think, speak and respond under pressure.
This example illustrates one client’s experience. The number of sessions required and the changes experienced will vary from person to person.

WHAT TO EXPECT
There is a general flow to the work, with enough flexibility to respond to what you experience and what becomes useful along the way.
Initial consultation
Progressive hypnotherapy sessions
Review and adjustment
Your initial appointment allows up to two hours. We explore what you are experiencing, the circumstances and patterns involved, and what you would like to change. This appointment includes a personalised NLP process and establishes the direction for our work together.
Hypnotherapy begins at your first progressive session. Each session is shaped around your goals, your responses and what we have learned so far. Practical strategies may also be introduced for use between appointments.
We review what you have noticed, what has changed and where further support may be useful. The approach is adjusted in response to your feedback rather than following a fixed script.
Some people notice meaningful changes quickly, while others benefit from additional reinforcement. We will consider progress together and make decisions about further sessions accordingly.
This approach may suit you if:
stress or overthinking is beginning to affect your daily life
you recognise patterns that keep repeating despite your best efforts
you would like both practical strategies and deeper therapeutic work
you are curious about how hypnosis could support change
you are willing to practise useful techniques between sessions
you value an approach that is collaborative and tailored to you
You remain in control throughout hypnosis and can accept, reject or discuss any suggestion. There is no requirement to disclose personal information before you feel ready.
If you are uncertain whether hypnotherapy is appropriate for your circumstances, a complimentary 15-minute call gives you an opportunity to ask questions before booking.
IS THIS A USEFUL NEXT STEP?
You do not need to arrive feeling completely calm, confident or certain. It is enough to be willing to look honestly at what is happening and participate in the process.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Can hypnotherapy help with stress and anxiety?
Hypnotherapy helps people manage stress and anxiety by supporting focused relaxation, exploring patterns that contribute to the response and rehearsing more useful ways of responding. People have differing experiences during hypnosis, and as such Individual experiences vary. Outcome can not be guaranteed, however I can tell you I will do my absolute best to see you achieving your goals.. .
What if I find it difficult to relax?
You do not need to arrive relaxed or be able to empty your mind. A busy mind can still engage with hypnosis. I guide the process and adapt it to how you respond.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. You remain aware, able to communicate and capable of accepting or rejecting suggestions. Hypnosis is collaborative; you are not asleep or under another person’s control.
Can I use hypnotherapy alongside medical or psychological care?
How many sessions will I need?
Can stress-management sessions be completed online?
What if I am experiencing a mental-health crisis?
Yes. Hypnotherapy may be used alongside support from your GP, psychologist or other healthcare professionals. It should not replace medical or mental-health care recommended for you. Please discuss any concerns about your treatment with the relevant practitioner.
This depends on what you would like to address, how established the pattern is and how you respond to the process. Some people notice meaningful progress quickly, while others benefit from further sessions and reinforcement.
