SLEEP SUPPORT FOR BUSY MINDS

Can’t switch your mind off at night?

You’re tired, but once your head reaches the pillow, your mind begins replaying, planning or trying to solve tomorrow.

This is support designed for busy, analytical minds—helping you create a clearer transition from mental activity into rest.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

When the day ends, the thinking continues.

Your body may be ready for sleep while your mind remains firmly on duty. Busy nights can take different forms, but you may recognise some of these familiar patterns.

Bedtime activation

Replaying the day

Planning tomorrow

You feel tired during the evening, then become noticeably more mentally alert once you lie down.

Your mind begins organising tasks, solving problems or trying to ensure nothing important is forgotten.

The 2am wake-up

Trying harder to sleep

Carrying it into tomorrow

You wake during the night and your thoughts gather momentum before sleep has a chance to return.

The more you monitor the time or urge yourself to sleep, the more elusive sleep seems to become.

You begin the next day depleted, yet the same pattern returns when bedtime arrives again.

Conversations, decisions or unfinished moments return for another round of analysis.

If this feels familiar, you do not need another lecture about putting your phone away. You need an approach that works with the way your mind operates.

WHY THIS HAPPENS

The mind can grow louder when everything else becomes quiet.

During the day, responsibilities, conversations and constant input keep your attention occupied. Bedtime may be the first point at which your mind has enough quiet to process what has been postponed.

If this happens repeatedly, the bed itself can become associated with thinking, monitoring and trying to make sleep happen. What began as an occasional difficult night can gradually become a familiar pattern.

01 Mental backlog

Unfinished tasks, unresolved conversations and tomorrow’s responsibilities compete for attention once the distractions of the day have ended.

02 Learned alertness

After enough restless nights, getting into bed may begin to cue wakefulness, thinking or anticipation rather than an easy transition into sleep.

03 Pressure to sleep

Watching the time, calculating tomorrow’s energy and trying to force sleep can add urgency to a process that usually happens most easily without effort.

These patterns are learned and reinforced through repetition. By changing what happens before sleep and how your mind responds at night, a different pattern can begin to take shape.

CHOOSE YOUR STARTING POINT

Two ways to help your mind transition into rest.

SELF-GUIDED SLEEP SUPPORT

Give your busy mind a clear path towards rest.

The Busy Mind Sleep Reset Protocol is a structured evening and overnight process for people who become mentally active when it is time to sleep.

Instead of asking you to empty your mind, it helps you capture what feels unfinished, prepare for tomorrow and guide your attention through a deliberate transition into rest.

1. Mental Reset

A practical offloading process for thoughts, concerns and unfinished mental business before you get into bed.

$49 AUD

Immediate digital access to downloadable guides and hypnosis recordings. One time purchase.

2. Tomorrow Plan

A simple way to organise what needs your attention later, so your mind does not have to keep rehearsing it overnight.

3. Sleep Protocol

Clear guidance for bringing the written exercises, your evening environment and the hypnosis recordings together consistently.

4. Rest State Hypnosis

A guided bedtime recording that gives your attention something calming and structured to follow as you move towards sleep.

5. 2AM Resleep Hypnosis

A short recording created for middle-of-the-night waking, when thoughts have begun gathering momentum and you want help returning towards rest.

PERSONALISED SLEEP HYPNOTHERAPY

When your sleep pattern needs an individual approach.

A busy mind at night can be driven by very different things: responsibility, anticipation, habitual thinking, emotional load, learned alertness or the pressure created by repeated difficult nights.

Personalised hypnotherapy allows us to understand how your particular pattern operates and work directly with the thoughts, associations and automatic responses that keep it active.

01 — Understand your pattern

We explore when the difficulty began, what happens before bed, what your mind does when sleep does not arrive and what may be reinforcing the cycle.

02 — Work with automatic responses

Hypnotherapy and NLP help us work with the learned expectations and internal reactions that can make bedtime feel like a cue for thinking, monitoring or wakefulness.

03 — Rehearse a different experience

Through focused attention, therapeutic imagery and suggestion, you can practise allowing thoughts to settle, loosening the need to stay mentally in control and moving more naturally towards rest.

The work is about helping your mind recognise when thinking is useful—and when it can safely leave something until morning.

YOUR PERSONALISED SLEEP PROCESS

A clear process, shaped around your sleep pattern.

We begin by understanding what happens before, during and after your difficult nights. From there, your sessions are designed around the patterns that appear most relevant and the changes you want to experience.

01 Understand

02 Personalise

03 Reinforce

Your initial consultation gives us up to two hours to explore your sleep history, evening routines, overnight thoughts, current pressures and previous attempts to improve sleep.

We identify the sequence that keeps repeating and use personalised NLP to begin shifting the thoughts, expectations or associations that may be helping to maintain it.

From your first progressive session, hypnotherapy is developed around what we discovered together. The process may include focused relaxation, therapeutic imagery, suggestion and mental rehearsal tailored to your goals and preferred way of thinking.

Further sessions allow us to strengthen useful changes, respond to what you notice between appointments and refine the approach. Practical bedtime or overnight strategies may also be included to help carry the work into everyday life.

MEET YOUR HYPNOTHERAPIST

A thoughtful approach for minds that stay busy.

I’m Marisa Netherwood, a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner based in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast. My special interest is nervous-system regulation and the automatic patterns that continue operating even when the conscious mind understands what it would prefer to do.

My work is grounded in the science of hypnotherapy and evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, while also making room for imagery, metaphor and creativity when these offer the subconscious mind a more useful way to engage.

As a long-time meditator, I understand that settling the mind does not require winning an argument with every thought. Often, it begins by giving attention a clear direction and allowing the mind to discover that it no longer needs to keep everything active at once.
