Small Is Good. Small Is Doable.
A grand reinvention plan is usually just another thing to avoid. Harsh, but fair.
NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION

Small Is Good. Small Is Doable.
So what is the goal?
My goal is to spend my focus and time on things that generate gratitude, connection and steadiness.
And I need to get specific about it.
My goal is to take JonJon for a little walk.
My goal is to call a friend or family member for a chat.
My goal is to read a book for entertainment.
My goal is to give my full attention to someone I love.
Small is good.
Small is doable.
Small gives the mind evidence that we still have agency.
And that is the piece I want to remember.
Agency does not always return through a dramatic life overhaul.
Sometimes it returns through one small action at a time.
One walk.
One call.
One cup of tea outside.
One moment of putting the phone down and choosing something that gives life back.
Join in next week for the wrap-up to this series and thoughts on keeping things real.
My goal is to spend more of my life actually inside my life.
Not watching the world through a screen while my days slip quietly past me.
When will I do this?
Here is the practical part.
Whenever I notice I have spent more than 10 minutes scrolling news or social media, I will pause and ask:
“Is this helping me act, connect or feel steadier?”
If the answer is no, I will choose one small replacement action.
A walk.
A phone call.
A cup of tea outside.
A few pages of a book.
A tidy bench.
A stretch.
A message to someone I care about.
Something small enough to actually do. Because let’s be honest, when the nervous system is overloaded, a grand reinvention plan is usually just another thing to avoid.
